In celebration of the first anniversary of the MY Bharat initiative launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Green Leaf Foundation, Gossaigaon actively participated in the district-wide “Diwali with MY Bharat” campaign by organizing a cleanliness drive on 30 October 2024 at No. 1 Bhomrabil Dakshinpara Bazaar premises.
The MY Bharat initiative aims to empower youth through social inclusion, educational equity, skill development, and community participation while promoting a more inclusive and responsible society. As part of the observance of the programme’s one-year anniversary, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kokrajhar conducted awareness and cleanliness activities across different parts of the district.
Under this campaign, Green Leaf Foundation mobilized local volunteers and organized a community-led cleanliness programme at one of the important public marketplaces of the region. The drive focused on maintaining public hygiene, spreading awareness regarding cleanliness, and encouraging civic responsibility among local residents and youth.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly fifty individuals including members of Green Leaf Foundation, social workers, assistant teachers, students, and local residents. Volunteers actively cleaned the market premises and surrounding public spaces while also encouraging the community to adopt hygienic and environmentally responsible practices.
The initiative reflected the Foundation’s commitment towards public health, youth engagement, environmental awareness, and community service in collaboration with national youth development programmes such as MY Bharat.
