Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Programme Held at Shimultapu S.A. Jatiya Vidyalaya

Standing Together Against Human Trafficking On 30 July 2026, Green Leaf Foundation, Gossaigaon, in collaboration with MSS SEVA and Oasis India, organised an Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Programme at Shimultapu S.A. Jatiya Vidyalaya, Kokrajhar, Assam, on the occasion of the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. The programme was organised under the theme “Standing Together Against Human Trafficking” with the objective of raising awareness among students and community members about human trafficking, safe migration, child protection, women’s safety, legal safeguards and the importance of community vigilance. Approximately 60 students, teachers, parents, youth and community members participated in the programme. The programme was presided over by Mr. Abu Hanif Joaddar, Principal of Shimultapu S.A. Jatiya Vidyalaya. Mr. Mizanur Rahman, President of Green Leaf Foundation, Gossaigaon, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of awareness, community participation and collective responsibility in preventing human trafficking. Awareness sessions were conducted by Mr. Rupnath Sharma, Mr. Abu Taher Bhuyan, Mr. Hafizur Rahman Sheikh and Mr. Mujahid Ahmed. The resource persons discussed the different forms and causes of human trafficking, vulnerable groups, safe migration practices, trafficking prevention measures, legal protection and the role of communities in identifying and preventing trafficking. The participants actively engaged in the sessions and discussions. Special emphasis was given to the protection of children and women, identifying suspicious situations, avoiding unsafe migration and employment practices, and seeking timely support from appropriate authorities and services. At the end of the programme, all participants took the Anti-Human Trafficking Pledge, expressing their commitment to stand against human trafficking and contribute towards building a safer and more informed community. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the school authorities, resource persons, guests, volunteers, students, parents and community members for their valuable participation and cooperation.
