Social Reform Program (SRP)

Social Reform Program (SRP)
The Social Reform Project (SRP) is a flagship initiative of Green Leaf Foundation, Gossaigaon, launched on 30 October 2022 under the organization’s Policy Making Board to promote social awareness, community empowerment, and sustainable social transformation in rural and marginalized communities. The project was formally adopted by the Policy Planning Committee of the Foundation in November 2022. The SRP focuses on addressing critical social issues such as educational backwardness, child marriage, child labour, social evils, addiction among youth, gender inequality, lack of legal awareness, and harmful superstitious practices. Through awareness meetings, community outreach programmes, educational campaigns, and grassroots engagement, the project aims to build an educated, healthy, responsible, and socially aware society. The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and emphasizes inclusive development through active community participation. Key Objectives of SRP Promote women’s education and reduce school dropout rates. Create awareness against child marriage and child labour. Encourage moral, spiritual, and value-based education. Protect children and youth from addictions such as drugs and excessive mobile phone use. Raise awareness against social evils including witchcraft, child abuse, violence, and discrimination. Promote legal awareness, human rights, and gender equality. Organize regular awareness meetings and community discussions in rural areas. Promote health, sanitation, environmental awareness, and cultural harmony. Strengthen community participation for sustainable social development. The first programme under SRP was organized on 06 November 2022 at Bhomrabil No.1 focusing on educational awareness and campaigns against child marriage, child labour, and social vices.
